Remember when….

May 28, 2014: Obama tells West Point cadets they may not be sent into combat in Iraq

Less than three weeks later Obama is sending troops back to Iraq. Perhaps not any of these cadets but that could change in a moments notice.  You see Obama forgot to say “Period” at the end of that statement.

The Obama administration has ordered the urgent deployment of several hundred armed troops in and around Iraq, after the rampant insurgency in the country forced the first talks between the US and Iran over a common security interest in more than a decade. On August 9th 2014 Obama said that his provided intelligence estimate had not anticipated ISIS agility and speed, they were caught off guard?

Saturday from the White House South Lawn, President Barack Obama blamed “intelligence estimates” for not anticipating the speed in which ISIS would capture large sections of Iraq. Source: http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-TV/2014/08/09/Obama-Blames-Underestimating-ISIS-on-Bad-Intelligence

But we have  known since September 10, 2012 that  Obama made it to less than 39% his daily Intel Briefings.  A habit that I am sure has not trended above even 50% since this scathing story was released 2 years ago.

The Government Accountability Institute, a new conservative investigative research organization, examined President Obama’s schedule from the day he took office until mid-June 2012, to see how often he attended his Presidential Daily Brief (PDB) — the meeting at which he is briefed on the most critical intelligence threats to the country. During his first 1,225 days in office, Obama attended his PDB just 536 times — or 43.8 percent of the time. During 2011 and the first half of 2012, his attendance became even less frequent — falling to just over 38 percent. By contrast, Obama’s predecessor, George W. Bush almost never missed his daily intelligence meeting.  Source : http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/why-is-obama-skipping-more-than-half-of-his-daily-intelligence-meetings/2012/09/10/6624afe8-fb49-11e1-b153-218509a954e1_story.html

We know that Obama had “access” these reports as early as January of 2014.  But did he or anyone at the State Department ever bother to read them?  Did anyone from his daily briefings make sure he say ANY OF THESE reports?

U.S. Intelligence Community warned the Obama Regime about the growing threat from ISIS since early January 2014…refuting claims that regime officials were caught off guard by the ISIS insurgency in Iraq Source: http://www.barenakedislam.com/2014/06/25/u-s-intelligence-community-warned-the-obama-regime-about-the-growing-threat-from-isis-since-early-january-2014refuting-claims-that-regime-officials-were-caught-off-guard-by-the-isis-insurgen/

Even the leftist rag NY Times published a story about ISIS that shows we had intelligence on ISIS as early as June 2012 that made some pretty damning statements about ISIS and its growth potential.

The group’s recent annual report, wrote Alex Bilger, an analyst at the Institute for the Study of War, makes clear that, “the ISIS military command in Iraq has exercised command and control over a national theater since at least early 2012,” and that the group is “functioning as a military rather than as a terrorist network.” Source: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/15/world/middleeast/rebels-fast-strike-in-iraq-was-years-in-the-making.html?_r=0

Well here comes the “Mission Creep“.  Obama started out with 300 advisers sent to Iraq,  Then he started bombing targets in and around Mosul.  And then  Aug 12, 2014 he is sent another 130 advisers into harms way

Another 130 U.S. troops arrived in Iraq on Tuesday on what the Pentagon described as a temporary mission to assess the scope of the humanitarian crisis facing thousands of displaced Iraqi civilians trapped on Sinjar Mountain and evaluate options for getting them out to safety. I am sure those West Point cadets will soon see time in Iraq and probably Afghanistan too. Obama’s promises?  They are nothing more than political pandering.
